H&R 35mm Springs...not much lows??
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:39:28 pm »
Bought a used set of 35mm H&R springs and after fitting them I havn't really noticed much difference  :sad1:

The part number is: 29261.... I've had a quick search and there seems to be a few different part numbers quoted and its all very confusing!
Is anyone else running these??.. maybe post a pic so I can compare??

How mines sitting now:

Maybe need a few days to settle. Stance looks nice though.

Any pics of it on a flat at all Brady?

I'd agree with you initially from a cosmetic POV in that with a 35mm drop, it should sit a little lower, but from those pics it's probably not an accurate representation.
How long ago were they fitted?

My AP 20mm performance springs sit about the same as yours does (maybe 3/4mm higher at the rear) and I'd consider them one of the mildest drops on the MK5, so maybe something isn't quite right with yours - have you triple checked they're the right ones for your car, engine, transmission etc?

Its been about 9 days since they were fitted... thats the only pics I have since fitting. Any settling would be over by now, its driven EVERY day  :signLOL:

I had 35mm Eibach's on my Fiesta ST and the wheels were tucked much further up the arches... thats why I just went for 35mm springs again! Thought it would be enough...

It seems there are a few similar part numbers for these... most quote them as being Audi A3 springs though, with the GTI part number being 29271 not 29261!
But there are a few places, including posts on here stating they are Mk5 GTI springs  :stupid: lost!

First six results, either Audi A3 or Skoda Octavia :chicken: -
http://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=H%26R+29261&pbx=1&oq=H%26R+29261&aq=f&aqi=g1g-v1&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=658l1307l0l1536l5l4l0l0l0l0l240l831l0.2.2l4l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=bdeb326aa44b07c5&biw=1366&bih=616

Perhaps explains a lot, no mention of GTI fitment, be it manual or DSG. Sounds like you definitely need Montes part no. for your GTI.
