« on: January 16, 2012, 05:36:22 pm »
Ive had a little read up and spoken to different people!
Revo, good map but to much boast and works car to much!!     Is this true?
Custom spoken to a local tuner that do kit cars tvrs ... He said £450 2 rolling roads before and after have a nice boast curve and put standard map back on when i sell........
Bluefin seems to be rubbish!!
I'm only looking to keep the car for 6 more months just want a bit of fun before sale so want it ack standard ??

Help pleaseee

I have Bluefin Stage 2 and i wouldnt say its rubbish

I would choose Bluefin over Revo, purely because its maps are less agresive and higher torque which Revo's maps normally are excelerates wear n tear. So in my case wanting to keep my car long term, revo was ruled out for me.

The only issue ive had with Superchips is getting the correct map with transmission type.

I know my staqe 2 Ed30 is far from slow and with lower torque spike mid range allows me to put the power down with less wheel hop and traction on the front wheel issues.

But as your only keeping the car short term and planning on ragging its nutz whilst you own it, then go for anything you like  :signLOL: and let some other poor sod pick up the mainternance bill later

APR are also making a comeback although likely priced similar high level as Revo and you will find a few tuners who offer good maps.

Jabbasport (VAG group Tuning specialist) do their own and charge £420 INC VAT, that includes before and after RR sessions based in peterborough

There are a few other companies on here who likely do same, Jabba claim 290 to 300 on Ed30 map, little less then Revo claim i think.

My 1.8T GTi was mapped by Jabba and my Ed30 is going to them in early April for stage 1 re-mapo while I save up for stage 2-3

Ive done more rolling roads then hot dinners lol.

In terms of HP diff between say Bluefin and Revo, your talking no more then 10bhp on average depending on stage. Revo comes into its own in Stage2+ code. Marginal on stage 1 and 2 :happy2:

And 10BHP less is about the same as having a small toolbox in your boot  :happy2:, not much in it

Just looked on APR website, they claim 322bhp on stage 1 re-map, it costs £699 tho, but seems to include a few optional extras, like alternate maps, security features etc, sounds a bit high for stage 1 tho, might be a tad harsh/peaky  :driver:

A custom map does not mean 'before and after' rolling road, this will be a generic map with a befre and after dyno test. A custom map can take 30+ dyno runs at various throttle positions.

Your 50 mile from milton keynes which means APR or REVO are an option.  70 mile from jabba in peterborough, then thets bluefin or shatk sho can map via handset
