4Th gear is the weak gear in the VAG 02M gearbox. I already had diesel gearbox internals fitted in a standard R32 gearbox which solves the problem for most people as the diesel internals are stronger and longer ratio therefore letting the car make 195mph. After blowing up two sets of diesel internals now bought a 2.8 V6 DRP gearbox and having diesel 02M final drive fitted. 2.8 V6 was produced back in 2000 before VAG started to cut costs and make thin walled gearbox cases so hopefully stopping the case flex problems plus gears are strong. probably end up buying a DM forged gearbox internals though at £5K when i get my forged engine fitted and running at 600-700 bhp.
