In gear 50-70mph accelleration times: 3rd and 5th gear
« on: January 18, 2012, 05:16:23 pm »
Hi, following on from my other thread of 0-60 time where I was accused of driving like Miss Daisy  (she did wave at me as she went past).
Here are in gear times of 50-70. This should mostly remove my lack of talent as the car is already moving. I gave the car full beans in both tests so there shouldn't be too much variation in terms of a talented driver making a difference as there are no gear changes or standing starts needed.

50-70 in 3rd, 3.37 seconds. Very slight gradient rise of 0.45m.

50-70 in 5th, 5.51 seconds. Sight downhill of 3.46m

It's a standard car, road conditions were average tarmac, cool temperature, running Mohawk m112 tyres on the front. I hope gives people an idea of a real world benchmark to help with pub talk.

Great piece of kit you have there.

Having DSG on my ED30 I never did in gear times.

pic of my Performance box time to 100mph before nitrous. 50-70 was 2 seconds.

Golf R gone.
