1, is the engine the 2.0 tfsi from ed 30\s3 re named tsi
2, has there been any modification to the clutch\flywheel or is it still made of rice pudding like ed30\s3
3, it has a "diff lock "is this a limited slip diff
4, any one whos got one , any comments

Its s effectively an S3 engine with TSI written on the engine cover.

It hasn't got a diff lock, it has 'XDS' which effectively tries to emulate a mechanical LSD by braking which ever wheel haslost traction.

Personally I think its crap and justs causes heat issues with the brakes fadibg on track.

Drives much better than the Golf I think.  I really like them

My next car will be either a Meganne RS, Focus RS or Scirocco Type R.  Probably in that order of merit.

Watching vids on youtube the frs and rocco r are pretty hard fo split.  But the general idea I get from every vid is the meganne has the best chassis of the bunch but the worst engine.  Not saying its bad, but they all rate the other engines as better

How is the Rocco R not a performance coupe?

It has 265hp and does 0-60 in 5.?? seconds, what exactly makes a performance coupe then Mr Candy or was it just another cheap dig at a vag car that isnt as track orientated as that french sh*tter that holds the land speed record on the nurburgring :stupid:

Candy mate I don't know how you have got yourself in this situation On here but it is a performance car obviously, the meg is not a track car, it is like the roco a hot hatch all be it with a better chassis that you would notice on a track if you were a very accomplished driver.

Candy stop being knob end as its just a car we all have em the meg is no race car it's a hatch back like the rocco it's no better and you will only get rid of it after 10 min of ownership so just buy what you want and dont bother us with any of it as it gets old very quickly

or perhaps go drive one, use your own oppinion to make the decision yourself..

Nice to see you have buckets of cash still spare as you'll need at least 10k plus your Renault for a good spec Rocco..
