RNS510 Security code and volume control issues
« on: October 15, 2009, 07:54:07 pm »
Just had my RNS510 delivered and have discovered the following issues:

1. The volume cannot be adjusted, it is set to a very low level and will not turn up or down, (the mute symbol is displayed on the screen as well).
2. The unit asks for the security code each time I power the unit on.

The unit appears to be firmware revision A.

Any ideas?

Have you got a bluetooth car kit installed?

No just the RNS510, I have tried another one in the car before (Rev B FW) and that worked fine.

Rob, take the unit out, turn it round and make sure all the pins are straight and haven't been bent during installation. You might have a short causing the unit to think it's receiving a mute signal from that pin

The pins weren't damaged, but after I left the unit for an hour or so after posting the problems they rectified them all by themselves??? and have been fine ever since.
