Lockheed brake discs
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:12:52 pm »
Hi everyone,
Im getting my NQSBBK fitted at the end of the month and basically i just need some discs to put me on until i can afford some machined and j hooked discs off the legend that is daveb. (insurance, tax, tyres and a few other bits getting done this month)
Im goint to PDT to get this done and was going to use bosch discs at £54 each disc, but my mate who works at quick fit can get lockheed discs for £25 a disc. Anyone got any experience of these on a mk5 gti?

Cheers
Russ

Theres about 6 foundrys in the whole of the EU that manufacture aftermarket pattern discs and a couple of them manufacture for the OEM's

Anybody noticed how VAG have slowly reduced the quality of OEM discs?? In fairness the prices have come down as well

my point being if it's a short term requirement go cheap there's no quality benefit for spending extra unless you go for OEM or Brembo castings (which originate from Poland)
