Bonnet jammed closed...
« on: January 21, 2012, 04:32:02 pm »
So my washer bottle is empty and I cant get the bonnet open  :signLOL: perfect weather for it!

Is this a common problem?...How the hell do I get it open?

Yes common problem. The latch seizes. Think it may be a garage job to get it open.

Mines seems to be feeling a bit stiff, anything I can do to prevent it jamming in future?

It's only plastic.

The plastic ball joint on mine is wearing in the metal socket, we replace it I think.

Lots and lots of copper slip!

Then when you open the bonnet again, lots and lots more!

Not sure if its worse when you can't close it, which is what happened to me. New catch mechanism I am afraid.

About £25.

FINALLY!! Got it popped today...and greased up the latch while I was there  :happy2:

Took a lot of pushing down on the bonnet then pulling at the lever but it finaly went... hopefully the last of my troubles!

Regular use of ''spray'' grease on mine. :happy2:
