Remap choice of increase?
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:13:09 pm »
This may sound odd, but can a remap increase be specified. I.E I would like my GT 140 increased to 170 and torque increasing from 320 to 350 which is the standard 170 spec. The reason for this odd request is I am not after huge gains and want to preserve my standard parts (clutch and turbo).

Dont just look at the peak numbers, look at how and when in the rpm / throttle range the extra power is produced.

Speak to a tuner that can custom write your map with use of a dyno to get exactly what you want. We do this a lot for customers as often their insurer allows them to add power as a percentage of their original power.

On another note, my old Golf Plus GTTdi 140 had 13k miles on when we tuned it (188hp and 304 ft/lb) , I added a further 9k miles and was then used as a taxi, now had 100+k miles and still going strong and still using the same map.

(I bought the car with a turbo failure so turbo was brand new when I mapped it)
