I fookin hate Itunes
« on: January 24, 2012, 06:38:57 pm »
Hi guys, hoping someone can help me with this.

I have a iphone 4s, and I use that also to listen to my music on. However, I have songs stored on like 3 different laptops but with itunes you have to sync your phone to 1 selected machine and u cannot then plug it in to another laptop and add extra songs, unless u erase all previous songs off the phone and sync with that laptop instead.

Is there anyway around this foolishness? It does my head!

Load your songs onto a USB stick and get them all on one machine

iTunes Match is one way. Sync all your music to the cloud and then play on multiple machines.

It will be a pain but you will need to take all the music from 2 of the laptops and put on to one machine. Then upload it to the cloud. Unless it is all under the same iTunes account which if it is you just need to synchronise each machine with the cloud.

Otherwise it is take all the music from 2 machines, just drag from iTunes to a usb stick. Then drag from usb stick into the iTunes on one machine and synchronise with that :happy2:

USB stick is a hassle lol. Is there no hack to allow me to jump over this walled garden?

You can make your iPhone be recognised as an external drive and then go into iTunes directory on the laptop hard drives and locate the songs manually and drag them across but it's a major ball ache as they don't have titles just alphanumeric file names, then sync with iTunes as normal and then hope iTunes library can identify them or rename each track one at a time

Or just use a USB

What's the Hassle?

Plug in stick, drag song from iTunes to stick, Put stick in machine, drag songs to iTunes. It will take 2 mins plus whatever time to transfer depending on amount of songs.

Not likely to be hours unless you have 100k+ songs to transfer
