Does this look okay ? Would i need anything else regarding the battery drain i see pop up now and then ?. My car is a 57 plate if that helps

from what i've read it effects pre 2007 models, but you will need to check what CAN gateway your currenlty running.

I would be highly surprised if a 57 plate car suffers from battery drain. Unless you have a car that has been sat around on a dockyard somewhere for over 12 months.

I haven't seen a car earlier than June 2007 with lower than an L revision gateway (but that doesn't mean they don't exist) which is fine. I had a March 2007 car with a K revison gateway and that was fine too. However it is hit and miss with K revsions.

Yours will have an L revision at the least if not an S revision so you should be ok :happy2:

Right so the rns510 is fitted, however i found out i got a K can gateway.


What happens now lol ? I believe i will get battery drain ?

Everything is working such as MFSW, MFD display, sat nav etcetc . Well chuffed with it.

If the VW logo appears each time you turn it on it should be fine, my Jan 07 K gateway was ok

if you do have an issue with battery drain from my understanding you can downgrade the firmware.

My RNS510 is version B (purchased from Madlil a few weeks back  :happy2:). My firmware is not the latest but it does what i need it to do.
