Nice to see so much care has gone into the cosmetic mods as well as the performance ones, Tend to see people go one way or the other. Can I ask where you got the 42 Draft Design Oil Catch Can from please? How do you rate it?
Also, hell of a lot of modding on a car so new, you must be doing something right :signLOL:

Thanks mate! :happy2:
Regarding the 42DD catchcan, I got it from www.carformance.com.au. The business is run by another VW enthusiast by the name of Greg (awesome guy). He brings in the 42DD products for us Aussies here and is based in Brisbane in Queensland.
Regarding the catch can, when driving it feels exactly the same when I didnt have one. Something like a catch can isn't anything which you can feel performance wise when u drive daily. But its doing its job it's meant to and thats all I care about really. From my understanding, fitting a catch can can reduce the amount of crankcase blowby oil that enters and contaminates the MAF sensor. More beneficial for track prepped cars. Is it really needed though for daily driving? Debateable for most peoples daily driving applications and the answer is probably NO, but it's good to have and personally I decided to get one as more of a preventative measure. The build quality and the finish of the catchcan itself though is superb. Only thing with the 42DD catch can is that the hose outlets from the PCV plate are quite large so you need a silicone hose which is about 19mm inner diameter (I/D) to make it fit. Unfortuntately, after looking at various places for proper silicone hoses in 19mm I/D, I couldnt find any so I settled for some hydraulic hoses, rated to 300psi from ENZED. This should theoretically last forever (or rather, outlast the car at least for the duration that I have it in my possession) and is a much better solution that normal heater hoses which isnt designed to cope with oil or what have you and can start to degrade away and may need replacing every 1-2 years or so.
Heres some pics regarding my catch can and the amount of crap it collected
bought 3 metres of PARKER 300PSI hydraulic hose from Enzed to replace the heater hoses with for the catch can.
The amount of crap the oil catch can had collected after 3000km odd worth of driving.
Getting the hoses over the PCV plate and onto the catch can is a pain in the arse. I soaked the ends of the hose in boiling water for about a minute, then sprayed a little bit of silicone spray on the inside of the hose to get it to slide in.
Temporary heater hose installation until I bought the hydraulic hoses. What it looked like BEFORE.
What it looks like now.

Excellent looking car and pics.
Really like the defi boost gauge :happy2:
stephen8512:
Thanks mate. Yeah the Defi boost gauge is good...I actually wanted to take it apart and paint the needle blue to match the Golf R's dash needles but I realised that the LED light inside the gauge lights up RED so even if was to paint it blue, it'd look a bit sh*t...
Maxi-Mos:
