Sat nav/Bluetooth??
« on: January 30, 2012, 09:46:10 pm »
Got a 2006 mk5 gti with OEM sat nav in dash etc. it also has a OEM Nokia hands free kit fitted for 6210 and Sinclair models.
I was wondering if the sat navs has Bluetooth and if so could I connect my I phone 4 to it? I have tried to find a replacement cradle for the OEM kit but no joy!!!!!

I had the OEM phone kit on my 2006 GTi when I bought it in 2007.  Is yours the one which sits just above the glovebox? (I can't post a pic as the work pc's wont let me). The cradles available were limited and didn't cover most of the current phones.  I got fed up with it in the end so removed it and installed the Skoda Bluetooth kit which goes under the drivers seat.

I think you can buy a bluetooth attachment for the cradle though. Again I can't post a pic of it, sorry

No satnavs have bluetooth built in (except the very latest ones which are still working their way out into mainstream cars) - you'll need to buy a bluetooth module and plug it in.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
