Candy White 6R Polo GTI - Wheel Dilemma - 26/3/2012
« on: January 28, 2012, 07:46:59 pm »
Well, got a fair deal on our Fiat 500, so managed to work out a good deal on this Polo GTI from Birmingham VW. I had tried to buy the one that SteveP ended up buying, and was negotiating a deal at the same time as him last September. He pipped me to the post on it, and i decided to order a brand new one through work. Decided to cancel that, and wait for another 2nd hand one at a reasonable price locally to surface.

We are still working hard to save a decent deposit for a house, so mods will be few and far between for a while. But just glad that i will be behind the wheel of this on Monday, after previously ordering and cancelling 2x brand new ones and also the one that Steve managed to get.

4th time lucky. The elusive Polo GTI.......fingers crossed i dont have any oil consumption issues. It has a fairly good spec, but missing a couple of options i did want. Never mind, i might retrofit at least one of them at a later date.

Specification
Candy White 3dr
Sensor Pack
Winter Pack
Convenience Pack
RCD510 with 6CD Autochanger
Multifunction Steering Wheel
Tinted Rear Glass
Dealer Fitted Fiscon Bluetooth

So it has a great spec really, and the only things i would have wanted in addition to these were climate control (air con is sufficient i suppose) and Xenons.

Only have the dealer pics at the moment.  :happy2:

Pick it up Monday after work. Cant come quick enough.

Cheers both. Definitely will be wanting to go for a remap at some stage, but need to make sure this is a good engine with no oil consumption issues first. Fingers crossed.

dont pussyfoot around is my recommendation.

Pretty much all the uys with hefty oil consumption on briskoda have driven it really gentle the first 1k.  The ones who worked them from new have no oil issues, ive topped it up, but no where near the amount of others

Unfortunately i wont have been responsible for the first 5k miles on this car. So hopefully when its been used as a demo car its been given a bit of welly.

Must say they are growing on me a lot, I really like that. I don't know if it's cos I really like white hence the 2 cars I have in white but the polo is a good little car and I am liking it. Gotta be the best little car out there in comparison with the a1, mini, fiat abarth etc...

Ive driven a few of the new Polo now and the quality of the interior in the GTI is a world apart from the lower spec models. Really is a nice place to be.

I was going to try and save a much healthier deposit and go for a Rocco R or Ed 35, but this can do everything they can for a fraction of the price. Just look at Johns. Really happy with this.

Yaaaay, another Polo GTI owner. We are taking over....slowly but surely, they are all weakening to those Polo curvy lines and tempting sylph like weight, and best of all - underneath she's a little devil with bags of energy.  :driver:
Golf R gone.

We looked at these last year when they were being drip feed through dealerships. Is it right that the car battery is located in the boot???  :rolleye:
