Can't believe the luck you're having with DSG VWs.

So glad I opted for manual in mine.

Oh sh00t fella  :fighting:

Sorry to hear. I was going to say you wouldn't expect this from a nearly new Polo DSG.... but I guess you were half expecting it!
Hope it's the last DSG limp mode experience you have  :sad1:

Would it be expected that the A1 1.4 TSFI 185 S-tronic box suffers with this too?

Knew the bliss couldnt last for too long. 2nd time i drove the car last night and i had the DSG kiss of death when the car limps into neutral while its moving. Happened while at a set of traffic lights, extremely dangerous. New box/mechatronics unit time already. Record time, it took a month or so until it died in my Rocco.

Sorry to hear that.  Wifey's Polo GTI had a new DSG box fitted back end of last year at about 6 months old!

Seems to be pretty common. Need to see what the dealer think of it tomorrow.

Just done a few things with VCDS.

Enabled the Australian cluster so i can get the instant speed display on the MFD and move the temperature to its proper location.

Enabled auto locking over 15kph.

Enabled auto unlocked on key removal.

Disabled selective unlocking.

I find it strange that VW cant get the DSG boxes ( mechatronic units ) right after all these years. They must subcontract these parts, and charge the supplier for the failures. It must be costing a pretty penny.  I have had 3 new VW's and the mech unit has been the only fault.
Still, wont be long until you can enjoy the car again, at least it is nice having a warranty with no quibble for these parts.  :happy2:

Yeah i agree. Its a shame that GKN or whoever build the gearboxes for VW seem to just throw them together.

Car was taken out for another drive for about 75 minutes this evening, and was perfect. So its an intermittent issue, as they always are with DSG.

That is bad! It must be luck of the draw though I suppose as I've now had 4 vw's all dsg and touchwood (hope this doesn't jinx my rocco) I've not had an issue. Is there anyone else out there who has had good experiences like me, there must be? is it not like a 10percent fault issue or something and just bad luck?

Can you do the needle sweep with VCDS in the 6R GTI?

I have no idea. Tonight was the first time ive ever used it myself. I am a total n00b.

If anyone can tell me how to activate speed sensitive wipers and also so that the wipers sweep the window a few seconds after finishing cleaning it would be much appreciated.

The needle sweep doesn't work. I've tried it. Just get an error message.  :sad1:

Have you done the beep sound for locking/unlocking too?

can't help with the activate speed speed sensitive wipers, but the wipe your are refering to is called tear drop. Can enabled it on the front and rear wipers.
Based on what is capable in the MK5/MK6

I havent enabled that one. I'm not sure if i prefer silent unlock/lock. Is it subtle? Where is it located in VCDS?

Yeah, thats it. Tear drop wipe. Should be in the same place on the Polo as the Golf i would have thought.

Probably in the convenience module.

Have a play around with all of the modules so you get a feel for which does what (make a note of any changes). Work your way through the bits and bytes on the long coding helper.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
