Still frustrated that even should i place an order for 7.5" TDPR1.2s that it could be any number of months before they would be ready. Ahhhh!!!

John, do you know if VWR keep stock of these in 17"? They dont even list 17s on their website, and only list the 18" for the 5x112 platform.

IIRC VWR simply order from Rimstock to an individuals order. So you would not get the alloys any faster.

I thought as much, but just wondered if they carried a stock. 

Definitely need to get up and try one of your wheels over my brakes then. Then just decide if i want to wait for new castings to be made or look for alternative wheels.

Latest. Jabbasport are hopefully going to get an 8x17 cast blank sent out for trial fitting. The guys at jabbasport are so helpful.

What  ET  offset blank are they sending out?

Most would normally be ET45 as that is the most popular?

The base catalogue spec for a Polo GTI in 8x17 from Rimstock is ET38. I'm sure that will clear the calipers, just arch clearance to worry about then.

You are looking at £400-450 approx for a set of calipers (not including anti squeal shims, or brake pads), and £250 approx for a fitting kit including brake lines. Other parts you need to source are:

Suitable pads
Suitable discs (Dave can supply a variety, standard or j-hooked)
Anti squeal shims

I also purchased pagid cera tec anti squeal paste which is cheap. But proper synthetic stuff.

Always best contacting Dave in the first instance.

There is a Mk5 setup for sale in the classifieds at a bargain price. All you need is to buy a set of brake pads.

I suppose the discs and pads should be about 300 so the total cost of a kit would be around 1000 pounds !

You can pay anything from £650 for the complete kit.

Dave charges £250 for brackets and lines.
I got my calipers for a good price which had previously been supplied by Dave to someone else.
Discs £75
Pads £50

I'd also take the calipers from Dave since it's impossible for me to refurb them at that quality. I don't thing there's anyone in my country that can paint them like that !

So it would be :

Calipers : 400-450
Carriers + lines : 250
Pads : 50
Discs : 75

TOTAL : approx. 800 pounds (the discs and pads seem too cheap...what do you have in mind at those prices ?)

I purchased discs from a seller on eBay. Brand new grooved. They are M-Tec brakes. Time will tell how good they are and if they warp.

The pads were Brembo. So should have no issues.

You can obviously build the kit to whatever budget you choose. Dave can supply j-hooked Brembo discs and you can buy pagid rs4-2 pads. But with all that you are looking near to £1100+ for the setup.

I'm happy with my kit. Much better stopping power over standard, but on a very tight budget.

Interesting...I see Bremobo already has 2 kits available for the Polo :

1) 1 piece 323x28mm
2) 2 piece 328x28mm

Wonder what would be the price on these and how would they compare to the NQSBBK !

It's £1200 for the 1 piece setup. Quite a considerable amount more.

Some time ago I payed ~1100 GBP for the nqsbbk with RS4-4 and J Hooked discs.
But the Brembo kit is with some weak pads (from what I read and heard from Laurent) and weak discs.
The piston size is identical with the nqsbbk but the Porsche caliper is one piece opposed to 2 piece in the Brembo kit.

It's 1200Euro in my country, so a little bit less and comparable to trhe NQSBBK. If I get there, I'll probably replace the pads !

Currently deciding if its worth sticking with the NQSBBK due to the severe limitation on the wheels that i can fit due to the already lower offset of the Polo. Bit depressed about this situation at the moment.
