What do you mean Deako ? Do these brakes fit behind the OEM 17'' wheels ? From what I've seen, with the OEM wheels there's room for 20mm spacers without rubbing issues !

As for the Brembo 323x28 with 1-piece disc :

A > 51mm
B > 108mm
c > 190mm

And here's the drawing for the caliper clearances > http://brembo-shop.de/gt-bremsanlagen/13308-brembo-gt-bremsanlage-volkswagen---polo-gti-1-4--180-hp--va--gelocht-1a16033a.html

Yes. With 15mm spacers. I don't want to run big spacers. There is considerable wobble over 120mph.

My Porsche calipers are between 55mm and 57mm from the disc face on the Polo.

TDPR 1.2 in 7.5" width could take any number of months to arrive. Hopefully, a trial fit of 8x17" will go ok, but I cannot afford to just buy random wheels in the hope they clear.

Is that correct, that the caliper in the Brembo GT kit only sits 45mm from the disc? Seems low.

45mm is for the 2-piece kit wich is double the price (2500-3000Euro). For the 1-piece it's 51mm wich is a little more. With the OEm calipers and rims I've got about 7mm clearance. The distance from the face of the disc is about 27mm so I'm about 51-27=24mm short of fitting the Brembos under the OEm rims. In order to have some clearance around the caliper let's make the 24 > 30mm. I know the OEm rim is 7x17'' but what's the ET ?

Standard is ET46. With 15mm spacers, I have 2-3mm clear of the calipers.

15mm spacers  :scared:

Exactly my problem at the moment.  :happy2:

Would not go on track with this setup. So i need it sorting ASAP. Ring Trip booked for August. Sprint circuit in May. Want to get another track day in before the Ring as well. So i need to get my wheels replaced as soon as i can.

Ive also been looking at the Sparco Assetto Gara wheels. In an ET35 7.5x17 they are 7.6kg each. Which is super light.

http://www.ozracing.fr/car_wheels_var/Sparco%20Wheels/25188/SPARCO/ASSETTO%20GARA/40388.aspx

Its just an unknown as to whether they would clear or not. Ahhhhh.....

Luke,

I don't suppose you know what front axle weight the springs were weighted at do you? How's the van treating you?

Luke
If you have to ask why, you'll never understand.

I'm pretty sure it was written on the box Luke. :)

Van is great, sadly for sale. Been offered a mortgage rate via work at BoE base rate. So need the cash for a deposit.
