ABS and ESP lights

Hi All,
Christmas maybe over but not according to my dash :smiley:
ABS, ESP and tyre pressure warning lights have come on. Car stood up over New Year period for the week. Started up and all fine. Dropped girlfriend off and when started all lights came on. We did have a lot of rain so hopeful it could be water in sensor but 4 weeks later the lights still on.
Not much fun without ESP as a bit slippery around my roundabouts  :laugh:
Any thoughts please. Is it a VW trip or anything I should be trying. Large hammer and lots of shouting not worked so far  :happy2:

it could be the abs pump but if it was me id get a VCDS scan done first as it could be anything, abs sensor, wheel bearing, steering angle sensor, steering torque sensor (altho that should add the steering light) could even be a fuse mate

As above, could be anything. I had an ABS sensor go whilst driving. Thankfully covered under warranty.

I'd say more likely a wheel rotation (ABS) sensor rather than the ABS pump, as the tyre pressure monitor would not normally be affected by ABS pump failure, just wheel rotation sensor failure.

And if it was parked up for a long time, surface rust could have built up on one of the roadwheel speed sensors - pinging the fairy lights.  Driving off will clear the rust, but the ABS/ESP (along with other safety critical devices such as seatbags and airbelts) will still keep the lights illuminated.  A simple scan, (store for future reference) and clear of the fault codes is often all that is needed in cased like these.  :wink:

OK. Here's the latest update from my mad Golf  :laugh:
Still not sorted original warning lights out when a new one appears. Started car and it was dead. Like a power surge the headlights flickered on and off then nothing. Waited 30 seconds it started but all clocks reset like it was disconnected. Now amber steering wheel light on  :sad1:
Took to local VW independant who scanned and replaced some sensors. All warning lights off until you move car. They unable to work out what is wrong. Fair play they took off new parts and didn't charge me.
Looks like Main VW dealer then. But are they really likely to sort it if Independant cant???
Have got the original printout of faults if anyone interested or just for their amusement :grin:
Any further help welcomed. Or large hammer to vent my frustrations  :driver:

OK. Here is all the codes. I know some won't effect the system but list anyway,

12555 Low fuel pressure outside specification P310B Not a plausible signal intermittent

00287 ABS wheel speed sensor right G-44 electrical problem in circuit

00778 Steering Angle sensor G85

00932 Window motor driver side front V147 no or wrong adaptation

00988 Lamp for brake light right M10 electrical problem in circuit intermittent

00153 Windscreen wiper motor driver side V216 malfunction intermittent

Here goes then.
After a special trip to VW dealer and being made to part with my hard earned reddies  :jumping: we think we have solved the mystery.
It looks like there is a break in the abs loom between right rear sensor and abs unit :surprised:
After being quoted the price of a undeveloped country's debt I've decided to take to small independant electrical specialist who can run new wire for a small fee.
At least I got the coilpacks replaced for free at VW as outstanding recall on car :happy2:

Fingers crossed all for it to be fixed :pomppomp:

All Fixed. Corrosion in conectors between bulkhead  :stupid:
