Hello! Ok, it's not a Golf...
« on: February 12, 2012, 10:54:46 pm »
Hi All!

After looking for a Mk5 Golf GTI for a while, changed my mind and have bought a Jetta 2.0TFSI on an 08 plate.

Not many options and completely standard.  I have a few wants, standard RNS-510, heated GTI cloth interior, highline upgrade.

I'm loving the car and it feels so much more special than my previous hack, a TDCi C-Max focus.

Some photos of the Jetta looking majestic and muddy today...

As I don't have a GTI interior yet I bought these in IKEA this weekend to try and get my fix a bit early...

I'm usually not too hot keeping up to date with forums but I should be around now and then, mostly enjoying readers rides threads and everything in detailing threads.

Ta,
Jacksones

Thanks for the welcome.

So I've had the car about 2 weeks and today I was heading into town and it started hesitating on acceleration.  Carried on gently and it got worse and worse, made my way to the local dealer and coilpack number 1 was breaking down.  Replaced all 4 for peace of mind.  I had a friend with a Mk5 R32 who had coilpack issues, is this a common thing?

Welcome along :happy2:

Nice looking car to start with. Bit of a shameless plug but if your looking for a GTI interior then drop me a PM. I've got a full 5 door one in mint condition

Enjoy the site, the modding bug will bite soon!

Oh and regarding the coil packs, there was a recall about them last year :happy2:

Thanks for the heads up on the coil pack recall.  I'll phone the dealer tomorrow and check up on it.

I'd PM you but I can't yet.

Since my first post I've already seen loads more possible mods than I realised there were.  Plenty of possibilities for the Jetta!  :happy2:
