Underseat Subwoofer
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:57:13 am »
Hi all

Has anyone any experience of installing an underseat slimline subwoofer to the MK5 Golf GTI?  I'm looking for an active sub and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences, good/bad  :drinking:

Any particular models?  I dont want to spend more than £140 for the unit itself so definitely in the budget end of the spectrum   I am no audiophile either - just looking for a richer, warmer sound as all I have are the stock 5dr speakers connected to a 4 x 50w Alpine head unit....

Cheers  :happy2:

Yes they are mainly crap in my experience.

They aren't punchy, just very droney.
I have a Pioneer TS-WX77A flat but long active sub in the boot, much better than the under seat types but still not like a normal sub.

I'm also no audio expert but the under seat ones just don't add that dimension desired.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
