Im disappointed with my times, I got 12 seconds last year at stage 1....my Sunday times isn't bad tho  :happy2: it was my 2nd run on the Sundayand I had 6 left so was annoyed when the strip closed but it's for the best, car is still on stock suspension and mounts with 3mm of treadon the front so not bad given the circumstances but im still not happy, should be hitting low 12's

Quite happy with 11th in class with a 6.34 & 14.567  :pomppomp:

Defo could've got closer to 6sec's with a bit more practice and maybe sub 14 but for my first time it was ok  :driver:

Just glad my car is running as it should and as fast as it should be given the mods and stage its at  :drinking:

My thoughts exactly John...  :surprised: You sure you got 12's last year Jack, don't remember that? Not very often you see a FWD Mk5 in the 12's at Inters and never at Stage 1?!?!

If you are chasing low 12's from a Stage 2+ ED30 you are going to need to get use to being disappointed pal. The only way that will happen is if you strip the whole car and run very sticky drag radials.. There aren't even that many ED30's that have got in the 12's, so that is an achievement in itself mate.. Most are on track tyres and weight loss, but it can be done on stock suspension, full interior and stock rubber, just be prepared to practise.... A LOT.  :signLOL:

You're getting there Gaz..  :pomppomp: At least you know that the car is running well as you have pretty much done a carbon copy of my mate's times (the human dustbin who camped with us the other year if you remember?  :signLOL:). He is also running a pre-FL S2+ manual S3 and got 5.0, 5.1, 5.1 & 13.2, 13.1, 13.1 from his 3 runs on Sat..
His biggest problem is his SMF that won't allow him to be too quick on the stick..  :sad1:

I wasn't to far out this year, traction is the issue, more mods to come for next year so here's my guarantee....I bet you a drink I'll get 12's next year

Get yourself to Pod Jack, it's seen as a lot more accurate and official and you don't have to wait a year
I'd be up for a meet at some point and I know there's a few others on here who would..  :happy2:

The trick I found is to run lower boost settings, higher timing and get into 2nd as quick as possible.. If you are Stage 2+ and DSG you don't necessarily need more power mate.

If you crank up the volume on this vid, you can hear me change to 2nd not long after getting off the line.

I didn't to be honest  Not sure whether that would work too well on the 1/4 though as you would need to dial in some revs initially to get you off the line fairly quick. Something I doubt would be possible with a 2nd gear launch...

It's pretty clever how it works.....it's a test plan used to check the clutch plates for vibrations etc and faults being the box has 2 clutches, how healthy it is on the car I don't know....even on a manual I think your burn the clutch pretty quick setting of in second,
I can't fully remember how it's done but if memory serves me correct you put the car in reverse and then D and then Reverse and then select manual and select second, it may be right it may not but it is a combination of that type, I don't work for VW any more so can't check  :fighting:
