Bit of a random question but why do some gti`s have roof aerials and others dont?

I havent got an aerial on mine which i thought was normal then i saw my friends today and his does and it confused me lol

both cars are same year and both have same factory options as far as i can tell too

anyone know why?

The production date must be on the change when they went from using a aerial in the rear screen to one on the roof... check out the screens you'll see extra filaments in yours

Yup, the first gtis off the production line had the rear screen aerial but later models got the roof aerial.
Without traction power is nothing!

Early models got two rear screen arials and later ones got one screen arial + one roof arial.
