Brake caliper painting
« on: February 03, 2012, 09:19:54 am »
I want to paint my calipers and stripe the same colour, I have found a colour I want to use but it isn't a colour that is available high temp. Would I be able to use normal aerosol? I used it on my brembos on my old 306 and it was fine but they didn't get that hot.

Tbh mate I'm not sure about the front calipers...they do get hot.

But on my rears I used some very high temp paint followed by normal halfords satin black aerosol.
(the high temp paint went a Matt grey colour when dry)

2years laterand the finish of the rear calipers is still amazing!!!
They look almost plasticoated

On my mk2 a few years ago I repainted some 996 calipers for it. Just used a can of tornado red and lacquer. Never had a problem in 3 years of some.serious use.

If you do decide to use the High temp paint, just make sure you let it dry well and the give is a sand with wet n dry before you use the normal spray paint

Try this paint, it is a near perfect match to the OE red colour and is a specific for brake calipers.I used it on mine a year ago and they still look brand new.
