Shampoo and washmitt suggestions
« on: April 26, 2009, 01:26:10 pm »
Given that I'm heading home for some annual leave, I swapped my rims over (Brum isn't kind to Monza II shadows). Also gave the car a quick wash and topped up the Lusso Oro. Jim@autoperfection - you were right. Two coats of wax really does bring the best out of it. Unfortunately it started to rain (very mild, more like spitting) so I finished buffing (using rainwater as lube) and took the car inside without taking any pics.

Unfortunately, my wash mitt (
Eurow Sheepskin washmitt) started molting and then suddenly tore a hole. Not sure how it happened but looking at the website, apparently I'm not meant to stick it in the washing machine  Also ran out of my normal shampoo DJ BTBM.

So I need some suggestions. Do I go for the same again, or is there anything you'd recommend over and above my normal stuff?

Also, anybody know where I can get wedge-shaped cotton buds?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
