Low Timing Settings On Revo Stage 1
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:50:56 pm »
Hi Guys/Gals

Hopefully this is the right place to post. After recently reading around here and looking at other people's Revo Settings, I have noticed my Timing setting is really low! Just to give everyone an idea. This is a dyno of the car when all standard (Done at Awesome GTi)

This is dyno after stage 1 and ITG induction kit (again done at Awesome GTi)

After a few runs the final settings were applied as B6 F8 T2

The car always runs on V Power, the chap at Awesome was suprised at the low Timing value, but was where it produced the best results. He also asks me whether I experience any misfire, which I dont think I have. (Have the Liquid Golf Gauge installed, which hasnt picked up any misfires) although the car is always abit hesistant to start in the morning when its cold, though always starts first time. This shouldn't have any effect right? Any ideas  :sad1:

Going for a stage 2 soon, so want to have an idea what could be causing it before it goes tits up!

lowest timing value I've seen tbh, normally T5/6
Mine was dropped to T3 initially as I'd put 97 RON in.
I also surprised to see anything other than F9 on a stg1 car with a std fuel pump.
out of interest how many miles on car?

best thing would be to scan and log some runs with VCDS to check for timing pull/correction factors, boost and rail pressures just to confirm all is as it should be.

Id urge some caution before going stg2 just to be sure all is ok  :happy2:

thinking aloud :
fuel pump issue / cam follower
fuel pump filter blocked
cambelt changed/timing out
injectors
correct fuel type

Thanks for the replies guys. the car is an 08 reg with 27k miles. Timing belt due to be changed in April IRC. As John_O recommended. Will do a few runs with VCDS  :happy2:
