Anyone bought ED30 - 708?
« on: February 05, 2012, 05:57:35 pm »
Keep looking out for a newbie post to say he's bought my old ED30 number 708 but no luck

Has anyone bought it in the past couple of weeks from Hull?
Red 3 door, manual, standard except for black grille badge and Ed30 grille badge

Would be nice to know it went to a member on here :)

Crikey - you didn't have it for long mate. Did it just not do it for you?

Had it almost 4 months, usually i keep cars 2-4 months as i get bored very easily

New owner should be pleased with it as it was perfect (except for few stonechips) - fully serviced, etc

Did you get your car sorted in the end?

Did I hell. VW Huddersfield gave up on it eventually. The emissions light thing was fixed but it still seems to like revving all by itself!

Ha, yeah, it has been into Peter Ellams before. I had to show the mechanic the location of the DV :scared: Not exactly confidence inspiring. VW Huddersfield have now referred it to VW UK, so hopefully they'll be able to pinpoint the problem. I'm tempted to have some diagnostic dyno runs at RS Tuning in Leeds too. I'm pretty disappointed to have had so many problems with a car that has had a pretty gentle life, and a full VW service history, but hey ho.

What's your new car then?

I went for something with a manufactures warranty and economy - er Astra 1.6SRI  :ashamed:  bloody thing only does 31mpg so wont have this for 3 months (looking for Clio197 in white)

Trust me, a Clio 197 will have much much wores fuel economy. I used to get about 25mpg average out of my Clio 200 and they are more economical.
