Carbon fibre thoughts.....
« on: April 26, 2009, 07:47:39 pm »
Ok, as you know, ive expressed a great need to go and Visit Racoon at Durley to look at doing some carbon fibre additions.

Ive decided to get my front resprayed by Vw and arranging that some time nxt week, dealer is giving me a courtasy car which is already sorted.

I would like to get the wing mirrors done, the Rear lower bumper done aswell, and whether get the front splitter on its

lowest lip also done to help cover/combat the look of future impacts.

Do you think just getting the lower lip chin spoiler wrapped would look outa place on a tornado red car??.

Any thoughts?.  :drinking:

I think thAt youcan get away with doing the centre section of the front splitter but the whole thing wrapped would look pants..

The rear lower will look good in carbon..

That sounds about spot on Steve :happy2:

Lower part of the front splitter is hammered with stone chips on mine

The rear is a personal taste thing, but I for one like the look.

The wing mirrors are a no brainer - do it!!
Golf R gone.

im going to Racoon tommorow whilst someone's out at work to get a price  :happy2::evilgrin:

Agree with you jonny, the whole front splitter would look out place, the only sort of photo that someone has cf wrap that low down is Red robins OSIR one, and that looks fab.

....x2

But bear in mind that externally the 'carbon' wrap does have a vinyl-ish sheen in certain lights. So keep it to smaller areas unless you do the whole car! Then it looks honestly wrapped rather than pretend real carbon.

....He may give you a better price if you are doing all three parts. But on the other hand, you could find yourself sleeping in your car on your drive! Or phoning one of us to ask if you can crash out for the night!
