Was it easy getting that whitewormed boot badge off? How much is the newer one?

Used a thin blade screw driver and some gentle persuasion to remove it. Has been to cold today to do much more! The badge was bought of ebay and has a slight curve to it, (I took the black backing off) Think it might need a bit of modding to fit properly.

Car booked in for replacement Coilpacks!

Quite surprised that car had not been in before considering it is a 2005 model.

Think I am having issues with the PCV as the tickover is slightly erratic. I might wait though for them to replace the coilpacks before I buy a new PCV (quite cheap and easy to install) to see if that cures it.

The dealer also offered me fixed price servicing for 5 years at £25 a month which also includes major/minor services, MOTs, free diagnostics, courtesy car, 10% off any additional parts if required.

Anybody thoughts on this? I am slightly hesitant as it is a VW dealership, but I do not have a specialist independant near me, unless someone can point me to one. I live in Thrapston, Kettering, Northampton.

My smooth rear badge is also badly wormed - was it easy to get yours off and do you think that the newer 3D badge would also fit on our style? (mine's an 05 Red too)

I'm thinking it is a better one to buy to avoid further worming on a replacement.

cheers

Badge was realitively easy to get off, I just used a thin blade screw driver to prise it off and some brute force as it is stuck with glue. I then plan to rub the remaining base plate down and spray it the same colour as the car. I have bought a later badge and removed the black back plate and removed the silver lugs from the back of the VW badge. Unfortunately the badge which is slightly curved does not sit flat on the rear boot handle so I am going to have to modify the new VW badge in some way to fit, so work in progress at the moment unless anyone knows an easier way other than buying a later boot assembly?
