I wonder what driving the new Mk6 GTI will feel like (I'm promised a test drive).

Me too, I will post my thoughts on the 4th of June  :happy2:

RR - sorry if this goes off at a slight tangent, but it is kinda related.

Neil, I know you're running ducting through the vents to the arch liners - can you say you noticed any marked difference in brake performance? My thoughts would be there's too much turbulent air in the arch being generated by passing flow and the effect of the spinning wheel, so they could be refined to give better effect.

A lot of the MKI/MKII lads are running carrier ducting direct onto the disc. I'm also looking into this and am in the process of supplying hub measurements/photos and caliper locations - do you think it's something you may be interested in too?... or, anyone else for that matter.

NeilM:
That duct looks to be very close to the disc which is going to have much more of a effect than mine which just pokes through the inner plastic arch, I do notice how cold the brakes are when first applied after long run (motorway etc) should block them of when not on the track really.
I have still managed to cook a set of front discs but thats just down to a poor disc/pad setup,   not heating/cooling properly   my driving.

Neil

tony_danza:
I'm thinking a 2 piece set up, so you can disconnect the pipe that runs from liner to disc face for normal duty without having to mess with the grill to liner - make sense?

I'll keep you updated on progress.

....No problem - It's very much related regarding how to possibly duct from these OSIR panels.
