What do you think are the best power upgrades for the mk5?
« on: February 07, 2012, 04:47:30 pm »
Hey there, my MK5 DSG is bone stock.

Do you think improving back and front pressure (intake/exhaust) are enough? Software upgrades? any recommendations? I just want a basic upgrade... 20 to 40hp tops.

Appreciate the help!

A Stage 1 map is what you want.

Sounds like just a remap will do it for you.... best power for £

but then you may start what we all do.....

fuel pump
intake
exhaust
....it never ends :) but thats the fun!

240-245 bhp from just a stage 1 remap?

Sounds very good!

Yes, but perhaps Columbia to the Midlands is a bit to far for a R-tech map, no matter how good it is.  :P

...just beware that even with a stage 1 map, you may start to experience the dreaded clutch-slip in the higher gears, depending on the mileage and condition of your (assumed standard) clutch.
