« on: April 27, 2009, 11:54:18 pm »
does anyone know anywhere to buy monza 2's that have black inserts? Or any good painters/powder coaters.

Depends on where you live.

I bought my Monzas from Greenouse. They already had the black inserts.

A1 Wheels oin wolverhampton is recommended for the Midlands area.

Alternatively, have a look at the rims Greenouse is selling. Looks amazing on a black car.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

in reply to my own thread.. LOL!

I managed to find myself a set of Diamond cut monza 2's with black inserts + Tyres all fittings etc and thrown in wheel wax. Including Delivery..

All for £600...

Is this a good price?

they are coming with these tyres

4 x 225/40/18 Economy Brand tyres

on this alloy dimension.

4 x 7.5 x 18

(they have two listed.. The ET48 and ET35.. what does this mean?

The economy brand is Enduro.. im led to believe.

I want to lower her.. as she sits stock. But how far could i lower her.. so she doesnt rub?

the ET figure is the offset of the alloy, std genuine monza's are ET51, so the ET48 are the ones you want. You would struggle to fit the ET35's.

Genuine 18" Monza's have a corrosion issue, in my experience the reps are worse, and I wouldn't put cheap tyres on such a fine handling car as the mk5. You may be better waiting for a secondhand set of genuine wheels, but 1's in decent condition fetch big money

I got my  monza 2 reps plus upgraded tyres (khumo), plus lockers, plus delivery  for £530 from wheelworx. :happy2: They don't have the black inserts though. A kind of gunmetal grey.  :surprised: Nice wheels though .

I can only re-iterate what my honourable friends have already said.

Get cheap tyres and you are upsetting the performance, safety and handling of the car.
Golf R gone.

Yes.I kept the rep wheels but they have deteriorated within 8 month :surprised: lacquer as started too lift round the wheel centers and studs! Partly my fault for neglecting them over winter :ashamed:
