Desk top woe's
« on: February 09, 2012, 07:00:40 pm »
About 6 months ago the PC shut down, the standby light was flashing amber but I couldn't turn the computer on.  Took it to the local PC repair shop and they changed the power supply, been fine until tonight, then bang - same thing as before, not happy!!  :sad1:

Is it a cheapo power supply mate? It could be your system uses more power than it can provide, often these cheap unbranded ones that say "500w" are nowhere near that.

You'd be best off with a branded power supply, like a Corsair.

so if you press and hold the power button down for 10seconds nothing happens?

if you disconnect the power, when plugging it back into power the light just flashes?
