Stage 1 Remap Who to go with Aggghhh!!!

Why shark all the way??? Plenty of others making great TFSI maps.

Just from seeing first hand how they work and the detail and hours they put into developing their maps that's all. I have a REVO map on my S3 and I don't rate it at all.

Do you do engine mapping?

I have a shark STS device with stg 1 k03 map on it..... I'm told it'll go straight on to another car with the same engine ECU.

It is listed in the for sale section.

That's what I thought - else what would stop me flashing it to anyone that wants to pitch up at my house and pay a tenner!? Someone supposedly more knowledgeable than me kept stating it was universal.

I'd best get the thing on Briskoda, and get shot of it!

The great thing about remaps is that for every happy customer, you can probably find an unhappy one. On the anecdotal evidence of my car, from a technical perspective I would be unable to recommend Shark, but have no issue with the equivalent Revo calibration. There is no doubting however that Revo is an expensive option.

Don't they work off the VIN? I know my DNA unit flashes it up

Then a few hundred £££ getting the ecu fixed because the partial flash has a paddy in the RSA area.  Plus like Martziniuk say the are locked to VIN.

What are your recommendations for a stage 1 remap on a standard mkV gti?? So many options  - REVO, R tech and shark seem popular. What do you reckon

I haven't heard anyone mention custom code, anyone had any experience with them??

We have smallest crappest workshop of all the tuners, plus small cheap waiting room with a antique tv and ripped fake leather sofa, we are on a small industrial estate in Hinckley next door to a scrap metal dealer, only 3 staff,  no fancy map switch boxes, no fancy glossy adverts, and an outdated £9.99 per month website.......................   So no frills here sorry..... Yeah it makes complete sense - not locking it down would be a financial fail, as you'd sell one calibration and some gypsy would sell it on for buttons.

I did question said individual countless times, as I thought they were wrong, and indeed it seems they were.

Don't listen to him there waiting room isn't even that good.. 

guarentee you will be going away with a smile on your face after car has been mapped, great service they provide, I'll hopefully be going back soon when intercooler been fitted for map tweeking.

now when i get my gti, do i  get the st3 reset and get new maps for the gti or go with a new company?
