She's about to star in her new film; The Bodybag...

.... Very witty but not very respectful

Sorry, i don;t have respect for drug taking alcoholics who waste their lives :)

....That's fair enough, Dom .

I didn't have much respect for Amy Whinehouse, although I have more recently grown to appreciate her music.

Yet another example of the lack of understanding and compassion that exists in society today.

I know what you mean, Andrew, but it's a fine line sometimes.

I think it's probably best not to be so blatently honest in airing one's opinions about someone around the time of their death.

As always when someone dies, it's the relatives and close friends who should be given the maximum understanding and compassion to.

Did Whitney's relative Dionne Warwick sing on Jonothong Woss last night?

Ill admit i have no compassion for any drug addict, unless they have been forced with no choice into it through some form of crime syndicate, ie illegal brothels etc

Smack funds terrorism and crime.

Terrorism and crime ruin innocent peoples lives and in the more extremes end innocent peoples lives.

Therefore in my eyes, (irrelevant of the reason they started taking drugs, unless forced into it), they have had a hand in the death of many innocent people through terrorism and organised crime syndicates.

Yes she was a great singer and artist, just as Amy Winehouse was, but how many thousands of pounds did they pump into crime/terrorism in their time.

The only compassion i have is that her son has been left without a mother much earlier than it should have been

What about people who are addicted to prescription drugs, antidepressants or sleeping pills for example?

....Some people have a highly addictive trait in their character. Like Saintsteve and Bourbon biscuits, for example.

Ah, I forgot money was the solution to all problems :stupid:

I have a lot of sympathy (and understanding) for the people who get caught up in drug use. It seems a common misconception that people are just naturally strong, and that in times of serious misfortune, or in Houston's case, the trappings and extreme pressure of fame (and money in that respect is irrelevant), that they'll rise above it and find another way to cope.

The people who push drugs are really who you should be blaming, not the weak people who are ultimately destroyed by them.

That's my liberal opinion anyway.

Here we go again a respectable thread about an obviously talented person who quite obviously lost their way.

Not everybody is perfect and again, like the Amy Winehouse thread of the same nature, some pretty horrible comments.

If you have nothing good to say about the troubled and dead its best not to say anything.

The title of the thread is R.I.P Whitney Houston, not rip into her for her faults now she is dead!

I am, quite literally, astounded! :sad1:

I thought people were entitled to an opinion?

I share the same thoughts, with reference to absolutely no respect for her after she got herself intro drugs.

Yes its a shame. It was a wasted talent. Nobody has disputed that. As for respect...........well. She lost respect for herself a long time ago, so why should anyone else have any for her?

After all, it wasnt like she got into drugs recently. You can go back at least 15 years. If she couldnt take heed of the warning signs back then..............
