Dubmeister surround fitting
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:42:06 pm »
Could anyone clarify fitting of the Dubmeister ABT Wolfsburg plate surrounds. For instnace is it a matter of fitting the surround to the car (screwing it to body) lifting the fascia of the surround up, placing the plate in the surround then closing the fascia thereby holding the plate in place without the need for fitting screws to be used on the actual plate?
If that is the case is there a security feature to stop the surround being opened and does that mean the owner is supplied with some tool to open it when needed?

Thanks for info

Paul

No, the lower panel just pulls on and off. Not very secure, but if someone wants to steal your plate, they will do it screwed to the car or not.

I always had to use a flat headed screwdriver to prise my lower panel off, was a good tight fit so couldnt get to it with just fingers.

You have the fitting spot on. :happy2:

^^Same here got these fitted front and rear just how you've worked out and you can't open the surround without a screw driver to release the lugs on the side that snap together when you close it over your plate  :happy2:
