Windows XP - Clean install

Guys, can anyone give me a step by step guide to complete the above?  I am almost certain I have the XP disc and all the Dell drivers, I have done a bit of googling but all the guides seem very long winded and complicated......

Just stick the cd in, reboot pc/laptop. Go into bios and make select "boot from cd" or make sure its 1st priority. Then save reboot and it should load the xp cd. Its got a step by step  guide once Its loaded.

That easy?  What about reinstalling the drivers etc?

Go to the Dell website and stick your service tag in. It will give you a list. Just bear in mind that you may not have drivers for your network card and so might struggle to get on t'internet afterwards.

Drivers could be found on dell site, its easier with a spare pc/laptop whoch you can download the drivers, then put them onto a usb stick to then put onto your new install.

Go into bios and make select "boot from cd" or make sure its 1st priority.

No need to alter any bios setting to boot from cd, just press F12 at startup and you should get the one off boot menu list.
Choose cdrom using the up/down arrow keys the press enter and viola, you'll boot from the cd/dvd drive.

Additionally is your xp cd one that includes sp3? If it isn't then to avoid most of the numerous windows updates I suggest you slipstream sp3 to your present version of xp.

As stated before, go to the dell downloads site and get the needed latest drivers after making a note of what hardware you have installed in device manager.
