I fitted an armrest to my 07 GTi.

Got it from Ebay - a breakers I think. Cost me £80 delivered.

It was missing 2 bits - the handbrake slide cover and the cd changer!

Cover bought from VW for £11, IPOD dock to fill cd changer hole supplied very kindly by Very Cherry for free!

Fitted the whole lot myself in about 30 mins - its really straight forward and simple.

Didnt bother with the ducting - looked to be a pig of a job! There isnt often anyone in the back of the car so it wasnt worth the hassle!

Andy

It wasn't until looking into fitting the armrest that i realised that there is heating at the back of all Mkv Golfs.
Turn your heating on full blast and feel under the front seats while sitting in the back.
The vents are there but located in the foot well.
The armrest vents supplement these which cant be a bad thing as i feel the MkV takes forever to start pushing out
any decent heat from cold.

if i got a mk5 without an armrest, think this would be the option. breakers and get the armrest in. the rear vents would be nice, but then most cars don't have rear vents and are ok. main thing for armrest is comfort of left arm ;-)

but yeah good plan, get an ipod dock/ connector in there too

Wouldn't worry about the rear vents, almost no air comes out of mine??  Anyone else find the same or are mine faulty??
