problems with iPod and MFD2 DVD
« on: February 11, 2012, 09:03:57 am »
I have just got a 2006 GTI and have replaced the 6CD changer with an iPod dock.  It is the Seat version of the VW part that fits in the armrest where the CD changer fits.  Problem is that it doesn't work.  The head unit will not recognise the iPod.  Not sure if it is a wiring issue or if the head unit needs a firmware update.  Is this a job for the main dealer? Thanks

Hi thanks for info.  No I haven't had a scan done.  This would be a main dealer job I suppose?  The dock is brand new so I would be surprised if it is faulty. The CD changer works fine.  If I can't get the dock working I might be interested in your lead.  How does it connect up exactly and how much do you want for it.

to get a scan done have a look in the VCDS user location thread and find someone who lives near by and see if they will scan your car, the lead plugs into the back of the radio and runs under the centre console i cant remember if the cd loom and ipod loom are the same thinking about it, id want £25 inc p&p for my loom and will add all the info needed to fit it to the radio mate :happy2:
