Point & Shoot Suggestions
« on: February 13, 2012, 07:20:56 pm »
I'm in the market for a decent point and shoot camera for taking on holidays etc.  Nothing too bulky with a good optical zoom.  Had a Canon and a Lumix before,  any suggestions on what's good?

What kind of budget you looking at?

I guess any kind of digital camera by a reputable company will be good enough for what you want to use it for.

If your looking at something with a few features and a lens, Sony NEX stuff is quite good.

I have a Black Nikon S9100 that is 6 months old and i've hardly used it. I was going to put up for sale but you can have first dibs.

All specs for the camera are here

http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/product/digital-cameras/coolpix/style/coolpix-s9100

Review here:

It comes complete with original box etc and i can post some pics up if you want.

They are £160 delivered from Amazon. I would be looking for £120 delivered ONO.

The only reason i was selling is because it does't get used (i have a canon SX220 HS) and am going to get a G12

Let me know

Carl :happy2:

Budget of about £300.  Panasonic have a new DMC-TZ30 coming out soon which has a 20x optical zoom sounds impressive but I'm a sucker for big numbers!!    Don't know if it's any good though as I'm not a photography guru!

If you can stretch your budget (or ebay), get the Canon G12. Mega camera!  :happy2:

I've got the G12, seems pretty good but tbh I have no idea what half of the functions are.

Others have set my pictures are ok even in full auto.

I have the G12 but may be overkill for your needs.

Robin has the Fuji 500EXR.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

G12 is too big for my needs.  Want something that can fit in a small bag/coat pocket.

Look at the S95/s100. Similar function and features but absolutely tiny.

My sis has the sony hx9v which has 16x zoom
