K04 kit / hardware suppliers
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:21:03 pm »
Can anyone recommend some suppliers within the uk who have the best priced for quality k04 kit for the mk5 tfsi gti, or who can supply hardware to make up a K04 kit and may be willing to ship to Aus.  Local parts are difficult to find in Aust without being hugely expensive.  Like most aussies, I have friends living in the uk who can send me stuff through the post if need be.

I am currently stage 2+, so only need k04 and injectors (I think).

Thanks in advance.

This thread has all the hardware info you need http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10196.0.html

Since all the stuff is oem you can order it through any VW dealer.

If you look further across the pond you can try this guy but don't know if he ships to your end of the globe.

afaik only cars made for North America come with a "noise pipe".

The part you are refering to is a hose that part of the standard ed30/S3 set up for the relocated diverter valve. Your car doesn't come with it as in your car the DV is attached to the body of the k03 turbo itself.

I have a bsh true seal intake..I assume this will not fit to the k04....so I may have to go back to stock intake...? is this correct.

I really like the latest APR kit k04 which does away with the dv relocation as it is built in...can anyone comment on if this works ok.  The only problem is apr kit costs $4500 Au ($3060gbp) plus fitting  :sad1:, hence me looking at other options.

Does your bsh intake have the port for their relocation dv kit?
If it does then you can make an adapter for that port so that you can use the S3 dv relocation kit as one of our members (KRL) used that intake on his S3.

Yes it does.  I just remember reading that this intake will not work for k04, something to do with the maf and turbulence.

So I guess that means it will have to be fitted for DV?

Here's how KRL installed his bsh intake to his S3 including what extra parts you need.

Nice....thanks for that.  I remember struggling to get that bloody clamp off the turbo outlet pipe.

I notice that JKM do a kit, any feedback from uk locals?

muckipup had his k04 conversion done by JKM and is quite happy with it. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,40255.msg495600.html#msg495600

You should be aware that JKM have now temporarily closed their online shop because of dishonest customers that use Paypal. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,37411.msg448639.html#msg448639

That doesn't sound good, especially cos it was from here, they may not be interested in supplying to others now.
I have have bought from uk before, (TD1.2's) and had to pay via bank transfer...there is always the thought of not getting your products, but thats the risk you take for the likely savings.

Out of interest, I rang local VW for a price on the OEM, $3600 aus ($2450 GBP)

ive not read all of the above posts, but my advice is to buy genuine parts followed by a remap of YOUR choice :happy2: :happy2:
Laser Blue with K04 power, APR hardware controlled by REVO 2+ software
Chassis by KW V3's, Whiteline and a hint of PRO race 1.2's
Brakes by Brembo 4 pots
