Should state the recommended pressures in the fuel filler flap.

Yeah it will but never inflate your tyres to that. That pressure (normally around 50 p.s.i is the safe working limit of your tyres.

Golf should be around 32-38 p.s.i. depending on wheel size (16, 17 or 18), tyre softness (sidewall etc) and driver preference. You can over-inflate your tyres by one or two p.s.i to no detrimental effect, apart from lighter steering and better mpg (motorway I presume).

23 at the back is pretty low. I've never been told what pressure to put them at, I go by what feels right and a pressure that doesn't cause uneven wear over the tyre. I had 18's on at 34 front and back and they felt about right. I'd imagine somewhere about there should be fine

Does not say on the tyres no....

Driving < dropping off to school and mostly motorway. so most economical pressure would be good.

As I said < 225 45 17s

Sorry I meant
32 front 29 rear

I normally run around 30/34 never had any issues with 1 or 2 PSI difference! Have a play!
