Iron X
« on: February 18, 2012, 12:58:44 am »
Been looking at this and its reviews < seems an effortless product with great results.

Is this a HEAVY duty degreaser for the paint/wheels?

From my reading it can be used on alsorts, mainly wheels and bodywork. I have some, only been tried on the wheels and its really worked well, cant wait to get it on the lower panels.

Its designed to clean the paintwork of metal filings/contaminents etc..

Preparation is the key, so along with tardis de-tar & a good claying session your paint woudl be well prepared.

Going to ask about tar/stubern spots < snow foam will only get the basics.......

Tardis/Iron X < will this remove the real stubburn spots stuck to the paint that you can't get off with the wash mit either? (prevent you scrubbing the mark so to speak)

Unless you know what you're doing with these products, I'd always advised you to be cautious. Iron-X works just on metal contaminants eg industrial fallout. It will not remove tar. You should use a dedicated tar remover.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

 :happy2: appreciate

Looked at this on the net - people are using this so randomly - wheels.......and body. Did question it? if its that good at removing ALL the bedded break dust, surely its too hard for the paint

It's a good product but be careful with it. It can strip paint from touch ups, blow ins, smart repairs and brake calipers. Just go easy with, work on small areas at a time and don't let it get any where near drying

JPC < What product would you advise to apply around the bottom of the car < help remove stuck on bits etc ?

Rather than having to scrub/pick at it.

Claybar will remove tar etc found around the bottom of car. I use a Bilt hamber bar used with water and it works fine.

Rotten eggs means it must have sulphuric acid in it.?

So yeah it is a product to be respected.
