No because the loom wouldn't be long enough.

What should I do nxt stu as I'm lost for ideas. If possible I do want all oem but if not possible then it's going to be easy to order the lot from kufatec. Would you say there is a difference between the kufatec kit & car systems?

What's the difference with their loons compared to vw?

I think you are somewhat confusing yourself and making it more complicated than it needs to be. 2 options, with the cradle/dock setup or with the discrete 'flying lead' where the install is behind the glove box.

For the cradle type you need the longer loom to get from the radio to the armrest area. (I think you can fit a cradle to the glovebox but you need to have the right glovebox, previously with CD changer etc).

These can be bought from various sources with non OEM looms. The OEM loom is as you found out expensive.

For the discrete type the controller mounts behind the dash out of the way With just the part you need to plug into the device laying in the glovebox. What you can do is get an extension lead for this type that plugs into the controller and then the device lead (iPod / USB etc) plugs into that. You can then run that to pretty much anywhere it will stretch.

Non OEM looms tend to use quad lock male/female combo to achieve plug and play. I'm not a fan of these as they are big and bulky. One member here bricked his RNS510 with exactly one of the fitted with an MDI because the loom didn't connect CAN properly. The thread is massive if you ever come across it. He changed DVD drives and all sorts. He came to me for a ViM mod and I discovered the fault.
