Looks very nice, better than I first imaged on opening this post.

....I must admit to conjuring up images of some bird called Phylis wearing a black plastic bin liner, clutching a pet raccoon, at a party somewhere in Hampshire when I first read the thread title.

I actually thought he'd wrapped it around a lamp post or something in a small village in Hampshire called Racoon

Not sure about cocopops addition to the roof spoiler though. I remember when my vinyl was temporarily taken off and they left that bit of spoiler vinyl on because there was nothing wrong with the alignment, and I kept thinking that it made the car look like a van! (Don't ask, it was just some awkward angles that make it look like that I think)...

....No, don't gild the lilly - It would look too much. Works extremely well on a white car (yours, Chris) but would make Phyllis no longer look oem. At the moment she looks subtley different but still fairly stock unless you look closely.

I do think that solely a black roof still makes the car look OEM, take Matt's for example. But yes you're right I think the contrast between white/black and red/black would look totally different.

I don't think that a black roof is quite Steve's cup of tea, nevertheless I'd love to see it done on a red GTI one day (only roof, not bonnet)!

....Yes, I agree - Candy White takes it very well and both yours and Mat's illustrate this.

If I did my roof, I'd probably use Matte Black as I have various bits of real carbonfibre on the exterior. It's tempting because my rented garage has a drip leak onto my car roof in some weather conditions.

That was kind of the point I was trying to make.. I think a red GTI with black roof/rims etc would look   also.. But I know what Steve is aiming for as he like his OEM stealth look..

....So, someone with a red GTI/Ed30 should buy Greenouse's black 'Monza's' with red rims and vinyl their roof in black.

Going to see a powder coating specialist this afternoon to confirm price to darken the alloys. Have a mint condition alloy on standby to start my new project.

Cheers for all the above comments, i dont want to do any more Carbon wrap, too much will ruin the look imo.
