ECP NQSBBK Anti Squeal Shims
« on: February 26, 2012, 06:20:11 pm »
Hi All, I ordered some anti squeal shims for the BBK that i will be having fitted to the Polo in 2x weeks, and i think they screwed up my order. Basically, the shims are available elsewhere for £10-11 each. And you need 4.

Here is the link: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Porsche_Cayman_3.4_2005/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101339140&1&f8b915588bfab776fd869eb6b266c62ee02e45fb&000036

Notice, the description clearly says that they are (Priced per Axle). In my opinion, this means that if i need 4x shims, i need to order 2x sets. Costing me £34 total.

So i did. I ordered 2x along with some Pagid Cera Tec anti squeal paste.

The order turned up, and they have only picked 2x individual items. I called the web team up, and they told me i would have to order another two. Completely disagree with this. It makes them more expensive than buying direct from Porsche.

I called the London office, and they confirmed as i thought that i should have only needed to order 2x to get the full set of 4. But the web team are refusing to get me another 2x items sent out. So frustrating.

So basically, can anyone confirm that i am correct? Im not paying £68 for 4x.

Are they the right ones? As they state 3.4?

Also if you go back to the previous page http://www.eurocarparts.com/brake-pad click on details it says fitted quantity 4 that might help

If they fit and work then I need some so let me know how you go.

To me, that then says that they should have supplied 8x with 2x lots of the kit. Im just going to return them. Useless f*ckwits.

With the picture they are one shim per side as they fit across both pistons so 2 does a caliper and 4 do an axle? Are the polo nqsbbk the same 2.7 porsche calipers?

One shim per side in each caliper. So 2 are required per caliper. 4 does an axle. So in theory, they should have sent me 4x in one kit. I rang and spoke to them, and the guy said i needed to order 2. Order 2x and thats the total amount of parts they picked. Idiots. Easier to return them for a refund.

Calipers are the same as the 2.7 ones, but couldnt find the parts listed under boxster.

Yeah so you should have 4 I would send them a link to there own website that says 4 needed and price per axle its all there or send them back and go to porsche im not sure there right for the nqsbbk as I understand it.

They are the correct ones mate. They fit the caliper pistons perfectly.

I ordered 2x sets primarily, as if they ended up sending me 8x (as i slightly expected) i could have returned 4x for a partial refund.

So pissed off at the incompetent fools.

early 2.5/2.7 boxster calipers didn't get dampeners.

For dampeners you need to order for a 2.7 regular Cayman NON S version

I ordered online, but the parts will still picked and sent by the London office. Its just a mess. I'd be better off just getting a refund and getting them elsewhere. I just seem to get all the bad luck ordering parts at the moment.

Thanks dave, I had thought the correct shims were the individual circular ones, are the ones deako has bought right?

Yes, they are correct. The fit into the pistons and have adhesive back plates, that have a strip. Once strip removed, they stick to the pads.

Just dont order them from ECP, because apparently they are fecking clueless.
