Stiff Horn
« on: February 24, 2012, 10:45:13 pm »
I don't know if this is usual but my horn seems a bit stiff to push.  I can't do a quick honk honk on the horn because its not sensitive enough.

Does anyone know a quick fix for this or do I just have to live with it?

^^^ :signLOL:

Seriously though you need to take the airbag off and loosen the bolts with the springs on to release the tension a bit, they're obviously near the end of the travel and need to slacken off a touch.

This should relieve your stiff horn :innocent:

Thanks very much, I'll give that a try.  I think I saw how to get the airbag off in the thread about fitting cruise control.

Cheers

Come on chaps, give the new guy a break.

My wife complains about my stiff horn, but I quite like it.

might be an idea to get your car over to a garage who can remove the steering wheel airbag for you and refit it, possible it may not be seated properly, or may be something else going on under there...
