« on: February 28, 2012, 11:47:19 am »
Laura picked up 'George' on Monday, 60 plate with about 15k on the clock.

Ill possibly get some 16" alloys for it over summer to smarten it up a bit.

END OF BUILD THREAD.  :signLOL:

Yeah Doncaster. Her polo broke down on Thursday night, so instead of plough a thousand pounds into fixing up a rusting car with 100000miles on the clock we thought it better for her to buy this, as it wont need anything doing to it for a few years apart from servicing (which shes got 2 for free)

Cool, it seems to be a good dealership the Doncaster one cant say i've ever had a problem with them, parts i've ordered always turn up on time and are correct. You local to Doncaster or just spotted the right car there?

Nice!  :happy2:

What did you do with the olop in the end?

They gave her 2k for it mate. Which is amazing, because it had so many problems....

Alternator gone
Way over due on service
Needed brakes all around
bodywork in a terrible state, rusty arches.
pulled to the left hideously.

Result then!  :happy2:

They probably had a few quid tucked away on the MK6 too but sounds like you got out of the Polo at just the right time!

Yeah its all balancing act. BUT the salesman was in a fault and objectionable mood yesterday, so we wonder if he has given a grilling for offering over the odd for a car that need probably 1000 pounds spending on it to get it in a sellable state  :signLOL:

Had a little drive in it today, very smooth ride and the engine is so much quieter and more refined than the old Pump Duse engines, common rail is definitely the future  :happy2:

The gearbox is nice and smooth (nice light clutch too), and the ratios seem much better than the audi a3 1.6TDI "eco-tree-hugging" version I drove in austria last year.

... I still managed to stall it though.  :signLOL:
