Hi all,

New to the site and have just purchased a steel grey Edition 30 so I thought I'd introduce myself and share a picture.

Rob.

That may be true, I don't think I'd be allowed back on the golf course though!

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I'm hoping my golf clubs and trolley will be a better fit that they are in my Civic Type R!

I've only test driven the golf - I pick it up today all being well. Not looking forward to the 6 hour round trip to collect it  :indifferent:

I've had my Type-R for 5 years now and I've loved it, the only issues really are that it's really noisy and uncomfortable on the longer journeys so I was looking for something that has some power lower down (rather than having to rev to 5900RPM+ to get the grunt) and is a little more grown up for those longer journeys.

Plus the added toys on the golf like sat nav, iPod prep and the DSG gearbox were too hard to turn down!  :happy2:

Rob.

I'm positive you'll LOVE it.  I've had my E30 about a month or so (so still a newb on here) but it makes me smile every journey.  The DSG box is awesome and it definitely gives the car a jekyll and hyde character.  In 'D' under normal driving conditions it feels like a nice relaxing cruiser and if anything a bit sluggish/sedate, in S/manual or when you're driving in a 'spirited' fashion, it's much more brutal/raw/fun...   :driver:  Long journeys are a doddle too - so comfortable.  I was a bit nervous about the latter coming from a fairly new BMW oil-burning coupe, but the E30 is truly fantastic.  My mates got a remapped Pirelli (stage 1) and it seems to be exactly the same split-personality beast (with the brutal side of the scale being a whole load faster and more fun)!
