MFD2 issues in 2004 GT TDi
« on: March 17, 2012, 12:23:10 pm »
Hi Guys

Sold my MFD2 and went about fitting it yesterday for the chap. Was a complete mare.

The unit went in fne and all was good. The problem was that it wouldn't accept the Nav DVD and wouldn't eject it either. Tried coding it and it accepted the coding saying all was good. figured the unit was faulty even though it is relatively new and was working perfectly in my car before removal.

This morning I installed it in my car and hey presto everything works perfectly as before, disc ejected first time and the Nav was fully operational.

Anybody got any ideas as to why it would have had the issues with the DVD and Nav when fitted in the other car? I think the unit he had in there was an RCD300, base Radio / CD.

We going to try and install it next week again, but hoping to get some info so as to ensure it all works perfectly.

Sounds very odd. Can't think of a reason off the top of my head.

Yeah Stu, can't understand. Pretty sure coding won't affect that? Or am I wrong?

The only coding I can think of that would affect that is the channel to prevent DVD ejection but if it works ok in yours I can't see why it wouldn't in the other car.
