Hi fellow owners.

I also have condensation on the high level light, and at the moment all the bulbs still work well. So I heard that it's due to rear washer jet directly shooting at the lights. Someone suggested changing this direction, but how do I go about doing that? Do I need to undo the bolt first then change the direction?

Thanks.

Use a pin, insert it into the jet nozzle and move the pin to adjust the direction.

That is presuming that the nozzle has not seized.

Thanks - it seems to move. But there is not much play in there as the nozzle can move - but the black bezel that surrounds the nozzle limits the extent in can change the direction to. Also if you put it too forward to aim at the screen - it interferes with the wiper cap. I have put it at 1 olock, and it seems to just avoid the third brake lights.

Wonder if anyone tried - siliconing the edge of the third brake lights when they are working?

I haven't had a rear wiper for at least 12 months and the brake light is still full of water!

You can use a pliers to turn the hexagonal nut that houses the jet assembly.

Anything you try will be fairly futile - I adjusted the angle of mine for the same reason and the wiper blade just flicks washer fluid straight up onto the light anyway. Another dumb design by VW. It wouldn't matter if the unit had better ingress protection.

My ED30 gets a bit of condensation in over the winter but is dry again now & my washer jet is no where near the brake light.
ED35. Standard factory condition.
